REPLACING SUPPLIES
Toner Cartridge
- Lift the front cover, and then pull down the multipurpose feeder door:
- Pull toner cartridge out of the printer using the handle:
- Unpack the new toner cartridge, then remove the packing material, and shake the cartridge to redistribute the toner:
- Insert the toner cartridge into the printer by aligning the side rails of the cartridge with the arrows on the side rails inside the printer. Make sure the cartridge is fully pushed in:
- Close the multipurpose feeder door and the front cover:
Imaging Unit
- Lift the front cover, and then pull down the multipurpose feeder door:
- Pull toner cartridge out of the printer using the handle:
- Lift the green handle, and then pull out the imaging unit from the printer:
- Unpack the new imaging unit, and then shake it:
- Remove all packing material from the imaging unit. Note – Do not touch the photoconductor drum or expose it to direct light for more than 10 minutes. It could cause quality problems:
- Insert the imaging unit into the printer by aligning the arrows on the side rails of the imaging unit with the arrows on the side rails inside the printer:
- Insert the toner cartridge into the printer by aligning the side rails of the cartridge with the arrows on the side rails inside the printer:
- Close the multipurpose feeder door and the front cover:
Fuser
- Turn printer off with power toggle switch on right side:
- Disconnect the power cable from behind the printer:
- Open the rear door of the printer:
- The rear door will disconnect from the printer at the bottom:
- Push down on two tabs as show below to open flap to access the fuser:
- Turn the two fuser blue locking knobs counterclockwise to disconnect it from the printer:
- Pull the fuser out of the printer. Note – Be careful, the fuser will be hot. Wait 30 minutes of non-use to allow it to cool down:
- Remove the packaging from the replacement fuser:
- Insert the replacement fuser into the printer:
- Lock the replacement fuser into the printer by pushing the blue knobs in and turning clockwise until tight:
- Close back flap door until it clicks shut:
- Reconnect the rear door at bottom:
- Push up and lock to printer by clicking each top edge:
- Reconnect printer power cable and turn printer ON with the power toggle switch on the right side:
TROUBLESHOOTING
Paper Jam in Front Door
- Open the front cover and the multipurpose feeder:
- Remove the toner cartridge:
- Remove the imaging unit:
- Remove the jammed paper. Note – Make sure that all paper fragments are removed:
- Insert the imaging unit:
- Insert the toner cartridge:
- Close the multipurpose feeder door and the front cover:
- If necessary, press ‘OK’ on the control panel.
Paper Jam in Rear Door
- Open the rear door:
- Remove the jammed paper. Note – Make sure that all paper fragments are removed:
- Close the rear door and then push the back of the standard tray as shown below:
- Remove the jammed paper. Note – Make sure that all paper fragments are removed:
- Insert the standard tray. If necessary, press ‘OK’ on the control panel.
Paper Jam in Standard Bin
- Remove the jammed paper. Note – Make sure that all paper fragments are removed:
- If necessary, press ‘OK’ on the control panel.
Paper Jam in Duplex Unit
- Remove the tray:
- Remove the jammed paper. Note – Make sure that all paper fragments are removed:
- Insert tray. If necessary, press ‘OK’ on the control panel.
Paper Jams in Trays
- Remove the tray:
- Remove the jammed paper. Note – Make sure that all paper fragments are removed:
- Insert the tray. If necessary, press ‘OK’ on the control panel.
